FridaySo, here it is — Friday.  I have decided that the tip or tool for today is an active, hyper-linked logo to the Internet Public Library (IPL).  These links can be easily used by librarians at small rural libraries working to provide services that patrons have come to expect while facing shrinking budgets.

The sites linked at the IPL are selected by students and volunteer library and information science professionals.  The bonus of using the IPL collections at your library is that the links do not require maintenance locally.  The same professionals are involved in designing, building, creating and maintaining the ipl2’s collections.  So librarians at small rural libraries can confidently add a collection of web resources to their services for their online patrons.  Simply add a link to the Internet Public Library (IPL) by using HTML code on their web site like this:
